“Daddy”, as I fondly called my departed Uncle impacted and changed the trajectory of not just my life but the lives of many in the family, church, community and beyond by providing the much-needed guidance during University or Polytechnic applications and admissions. I make bold to say that just as Uncle Ogungbola wrote on the tribute page that “Daddy” singlehandedly secured him an admission to study accountancy at the Yaba College of Technology, Uncle Bunmi also matched me with the Federal Polytechnic Offa to study Electrical Electronics Engineering; a mentorship that my village-based biological 'daddy' could not have provided which ultimately shaped my future and career prospects among others.
If only I knew when I called you on your birthday on 16th March that it would be our last conversation, I would have done much more!
May your soul Rest in Perfect Peace and may the good Lord give your immediate and extended families the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
