It was with great sadness that we heard of Auntie Ann Szwarc's passing. It was just several days ago that I called her on my birthday, she cried, when she was in the hospital. We reminisced of our family visits with her and Babcia. Even though she was sad, I still managed to make her laugh with my normal crazy jokes. It will be those moments that my wife Susan, son Richard Jr. and daughter Catherine will cherish and miss. We always enjoyed our time with Auntie Ann. She was a cheerful, fun-loving lady who was full of life. Her smile could light up a room and it was infectious. She made everyone around her happy and tried everything to make us feel appreciated. Whether it was a funny joke, her positive attitude, or her big smile, she was a delight to be around. As a child I remember visiting my aunt almost every weekend - because she had to tudor me. I wasn’t the best of students, my English was terrible, my mind would wander – I couldn’t stay focused and my late mother Krystyna, Ann’s sister requested reinforcements. That’s where Ann came in. My Aunt Ann taught me a lot of valuable lessons over the years. It was during this time that I believe I developed a mutual bond and my admiration for her teaching abilities. With her guidance and patience I did graduate from High School and even university with a Bachelor’s Science Degree. I really believe that I couldn’t have succeeded in my education without her direction – Thanks for everything – Auntie Ann! My mother and her sister, Ann were very close, which meant we got to spend a lot of time with together. Ann was kind at heart and loved to please our children whenever we visited. That was one of Auntie greatest attributes/qualities – she always wanted everyone to feel at home and special. As I got older my aunt always made an effort to stay involved in my early teenage life. She was there at my university graduation. I really appreciated how much she cared and knew I could always count on her for anything I needed. No matter how much I was grateful to her in those times, I felt like it was nothing compared to everything she did for me over the years. When my aunt was diagnosed with cancer it was a very difficult time as it brought back memories of our good times and memories of my mother, Krystyna. Ann was such a positive and strong lady she never acted down – never even saw her get mad. She was always gave me much encouragement and showed me the positives in life – just as she lived by them. I will miss my Ann’s smile and positive attitude. She was an incredible aunt. She will be missed by a lot of people here today. I wish you peace Auntie Ann; we will always love and remember you. Your Family Always, Richard, Susan, Richard Jr. & Catherine Partyka
