Obituary of ALEXANDER "ALEX" LEDARNEY
Alexander "Alex" Ledarney
February 16th, 1964 - June 20th, 2015
It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend...Alex Ledarney. Alex is survived by his loving wife Carmen Ledarney, his son Alexander Ledarney Jr, and his step-son Enzo Laterza.
He is also survived by his siblings Sharon (Stan) Baron, Patricia (Dick) Fehr, Mitcheal (Liz) Ledarney, Kathy Ledarney, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was pre-deceased by his father Alec Ledarney, his mother Nancy Ledarney, and his brother Leonard Ledarney.
Alex was loved by so many. He was always smiling, especially when he spent time outdoors. His best times were spent at the cabin in Dominion City with his loving wife, sons, and close family and friends.
After 26 years of being an employee at Boeing Canada Winnipeg, he was always making people laugh and smile. He was also a proud union member of Unifor Local 2169.
Alex was an avid hunter, and was passionate about the sport; archery in particular. He was extremely proud of all his trophies and would talk incessantly about hunting to anyone that would listen. Alex was a proud member of the Labattes Wildlife Association for many, many years. Throughout his membership, he has won all his awards from hunting. He also sat at the executive table.
Alex was a body builder and was passionate about training. He has had huge accomplishments in his life with his bodybuilding. Alex was Mr. Manitoba in 1985 and runner-up to Mr. Canada in 1994.
He will be extremely missed by Carmen. He was her rock. She will miss him calling her "Angel", and checking up on her to make sure she was safe. He was her fierce protector and biggest fan. Alex was her world.
The family would like to thank the first responders, paramedics, and the caring staff at the Morris Hospital. They would also like to thank Brittain Empson, Connor Empson, and Mike Waddingham for all their help and support.
The funeral Service will be held on Thursday June 25th, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to "The Heart and Stroke Foundation" or the Wildlife Foundation.
