Obituary of OFELIA MENDES CALEIRAS

Ofelia Mendes Caleiras was born on November 8, 1939 and sadly left too soon on Sunday, December 29, 2024.

She immigrated to this country from Portugal leaving behind all she knew to start a new life in Canada as a Seamstress with her husband José Caleiras and son Carlos Jorge Caleiras. They built a life and a home filled with laughter, joy and love.

She was a bright, loving and caring woman who leaves behind her nieces, Belinda, Ava and Chloe Tomé and nephew-in-law Anibal Tomé. She leaves behind her family in Portugal, sister Gertrudes Lançeiro, nieces, Ofelia, Susana, Marta, Monica, Luisa and Carolina and nephews Miguel, Rui, Nuno, Pedro and André.  Sister-in-law Dina Maria and Joaquim Vitorino and nieces Patricia and Sandra including their daughters Raquel, Sofia and Maria-João.

She will now be reunited in Heaven with her sisters Maria Graciete Sousa and Ivone Neves, parents Luisa and Joaquim Caleiras, along with her son Carlos Jorge Caleiras.

She will be deeply missed and the joy she brought to everyone’s lives will never be forgotten.
