Obituary of LAWRENCE FERDINAND PACHAL
We are sad to announce Larry passed away on Saturday, December 14 with his brother by his side. He was 73 years old. We were not prepared to lose him so soon.
Larry was big brother to Rosaline, Lenard (Lucie), Maureen (Eric); Uncle Larry to nieces Kathleen (Allen), Nicole (Diego) and Alanna.
Larry lived all his life in Winnipeg. He went straight from high school to beginning his 40 plus year career with Air Canada, making many lifelong friends. As an employee of AC, Larry was able to travel to far away places including New Zealand and Japan, as well as many weekend getaways to watch NHL hockey.
Like other Winnipeggers, Larry was a huge Jets fan, having season tickets on the blue line for many years. He was very sad to see them leave and excited for their return. He enjoyed golfing in the summer and curling in the winter. Curling was a particular favourite of his in his earlier years, as evident by the many trophies and team photos throughout his home.
In retirement, Larry was a member of the Air Canada Pionairs, serving on the executive for many years. The Pionairs and his AC friends were a second family. He enjoyed the many meetings, lunches and dinners.
We are grateful for the care Larry received from the many doctors and medical staff, especially the Palliative Care team.
A private family service will take place. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made to St. Boniface Hospital Foundation or The War Amps in Larry's memory.
