Obituary of Norbert Houde
It is with heavy hearts that the family announce the sudden passing of Harold Houde on November 21, 2024 at the age of 72.
Harold grew up with his family in Ste Rose Du Lac, MB. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph Ovide Houde and Marie Antoinette Patenaude. The sixth of eight siblings, he is survived by one brother, Joseph Denis Houde of Edmonton; six nephews and one niece. It is well known he enjoyed the company of his extended family of cousins and their families living in the Winnipeg area.
As a young adult, he moved around with his cousin Patrick, living all over western Canada until finally landing in Winnipeg. He kept busy volunteering with Main Street Project for 10 years, until starting a job for R&R Rails with CP Rail where he worked until he retired.
Harold had a big heart. He never missed a birthday, anniversary, or graduation for his friends and family. He was known for his boisterous laugh, and a personality that filled a room when he walked in. He was well known within his community, often spending time downtown at Bleachers with his friends. During the summers he often went on fishing trips all over Manitoba.
Harold will be dearly missed by his friends and family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Bleachers Sports Bar (308 Fort Street, Winnipeg, MB) on Saturday, January 18 from 1:00 P.M – 3:00 P.M.
You will be sorely missed, rest in peace Bro.
