Obituary of KENNETH ROBERT (BOB) GRAVLIN
Kenneth Robert (Bob) Gravlin passed away peacefully, with family by his side on December 14, 2024 at St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 92 years.
Bob is lovingly remembered by his wife, Marjorie and children Janice and John (Sherri), as well as his grandson Michael. He also leaves his brother Lorne.
Bob grew up in Fort Garry. It was during square dancing at the YMCA that he caught the eye of Marjorie Griffith (it must have been his fancy footwork). In May of 1956 he married the love of his life and moved to Transcona, where they raised their family and spent 68 happy years together.
Bob originally started working for the CNR, which was partially responsible for his life long hobby of model rail roading. He later moved on to a job with Air Canada finance where he worked for 28 years.
He was very involved in his church and community work through the Odd Fellows and Rebekah Lodges. Bob was elected to the position of Grand Master in 2005/2006.
The family extends their gratitude to Palliative Care and his home care workers for their assistance during his illness.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 21 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel Transcona, 1800 Day Street.
If friends desire, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba.
