Obituary of PAUL RICHARD HORNUNG
It is with sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Paul Richard Hornung beloved father, son, brother, uncle and friend.
Paul will be dearly missed by his son Lucas (Kailie), parents Allan & Irene, brother Michael (Pam), sisters Theresa, Susan (Trevor), sister-in-law Pam Fooks, Uncle Bill Baron (Anita), Aunts Terry Shames, Geraldine LeMaistre (Bart) and Margaret Hornung, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, extended family members and his many friends.
Paul was preceded in death by his brother Murray, Grandparents Michael & Anne Hornung and William & Annie Baron, Uncles Alvin & Gilbert Hornung and Morris (Al) Shames, Aunts June, Beatrice, Bernice Hornung and Joan Baron
Paul was born in Winnipeg and grew up on the family farm in Vivian where his love for farming and the outdoors flourished. Sports were a big part of his life. Curling, baseball, volleyball, broomball and fishing were some of his favorites along with canoeing in the Manitoba summer games. As a young athlete, he attended volleyball camp at the International Peace Gardens and was coached by a member of the Canadian Men’s Volleyball Team.
Paul worked from the age of 16 at Structural Glass along with his dad and brother, he later moved to Viper Construction until a shoulder injury left him unable to work.
There will be a Celebration of Life held Friday December 20th at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel 1442 Main Street.
In memory of Paul, and in lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donating to one of the following organizations: the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, Cancer Care Manitoba Foundation, or The Addictions Foundation of Manitoba.
