Obituary of KEVIN WAYNE DOWD
KEVIN WAYNE DOWD
January 21, 1973 – December 1, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Dad, son, brother, husband and Gida.
Kevin is predeceased by his grandparents, Ivan and Pearl Dowd, and George and Florence Safriuk.
He is survived by his parents, Clint and Audrey Dowd, his sisters Angela (Sam) Jajetovic, Ayn (Tim Rogalski) Wilcox, his nieces and nephews Jenessa (Scott), Katrina, Ozzy and Laila. He also leaves behind his loving wife of over 20 years, Angela, and their children Jeremy (Kelsey) Hopman, Ashley (Christopher Tataryn) McKenzie, Amy (Mackenzie Richardson) Hopman, Joseph (Alyssa) Hopman, and Joshua, as well as his beautiful grandchildren Ella, Cash, Emily, Hunter, Arya and Annie. Kevin also leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Kevin grew up on the farm in Sundown, Manitoba. He worked for MBLL for 24 years. He loved working with the bands and meeting new people. His love for music extended into his personal life also, he loved to play his guitar, especially around a campfire.
Kevin loved spending time outdoors with his family. Kevin and Angie spent countless weekends at Buffalo Point, going fishing on the boat and taking the grandkids on quad rides, feeding the deer and foraging for wild berries and mushrooms. He also loved hunting at the farm every year with his sons and daughter.
Kevin was always the guy you could call. Whenever you needed him – he was there, whatever it was, whatever time it was, being there for the people he loved was never an inconvenience. He always made sure everyone had a smile on their faces with his corny jokes and sense of humor.
Kevin recently found peace in his faith and his love for the Lord. Kevin’s love for his wife, family & friends only grew more during his pursuit in Christ. Jesus met Kevin at Heaven’s gates to greet him with a warm embrace and welcomed him into His kingdom.
Words can never express the deep sense of loss and emptiness left behind from Kevin’s ever-loving, big heart.
