I knew Eldon for the past 12 years, he was one of my customers for his welding business. What a great guy to talk to! Always pleasant and kind and full of anecdotes! He was a pleasure to know and work with and will be dearly missed.
My deepest condolences to Linda and the whole family.

We’re so sorry to hear of Eldon’s passing; he was such a great cousin. It was so nice to have him living just downstairs from us with Auntie Dorothy and Uncle Bill. I feel so blessed that Eldon and Linda visited us a couple of summers ago. It was just like old times reminiscing and listening to Eldon’s stories. Eldon will be missed. Rest in heavenly peace.

Eldon was such a gem. He was always interested in what was going on and always made one feel special. I enjoyed any time spent with Eldon, whether it was paddling or at our yearly plant drop off visits, as he always interacted with joy and humour! His loss is heartbreaking, and I hope that the fact he had such a positive impact on so many people helps bring some comfort to you in these tough times. We were unable to make the service but did watch it online, nicely done. I am going to put on some good ol’ 70 s disco and send a cheers his way. My sympathies to you Linda and your family.

So sorry to hear about Eldon's passing.
I had the privilege of knowing Eldon as a member of the Dirty Oars Dragon Boat Team. Despite being one of the oldest (often THE oldest) members of the team, Eldon's energy and enthusiasm were always an inspiration to the entire team. (He was usually seated in the "powerhouse" section of the boat, often next to people half his age...!). After the race was over, you could count on sitting with Eldon and having a good chat...sometimes about the race and his ideas about the outcome, and other times just chatting about anything under the sun! Win or lose, you could tell that Eldon loved to compete and pour everything he had into the race.
Years later I'd see Eldon at my workplace on one of his sales visits, or dropping off Dragon Fly Begonia plants at our house. No matter how much time had passed, it was always like you had just spoken to him yesterday...
Eldon will certainly be missed by all that knew him.

I was very sad to hear about Eldon's passing. Although it's been many years now since I last saw him, Eldon was a kind man that will always hold a special place in my heart. He welcomed me to dragon boating with a big smile, and always joked proudly that he was the eldest member of the Dirty Oars and me being the youngest at the time. My thoughts and prayers go to you, Linda, and the entire family.

The world has definitely lost a character. Whenever I think of Eldon I recall his choreography of "The Calgary Stomp" in Gravelbourg which nobody knows the steps to as it was just all of us doing exactly what Eldon called out in the moment. I do remember all the laughter, both that evening and many others. He loved to talk and to laugh and to enjoy whomever he was with in the moment and for those traits he will be missed by many. Love to Linda and all of the family.
