Obituary of MARY DONNA SYLVIA CHECK

It is with great sadness that we announce that Donna Sylvia Check passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, October 10, 2024.

Donna is predeceased by her parents Ernest and Christine Davies, her loving sister Gwendolyn. grandchildren Kayla and Andrew and great granddaughter Anika Rose.

Our beloved mom, grandma and great grandmother will be sadly missed by her son Andy, her daughter in law Colleen, and grandchildren Kayden, Cashton, Riley and Levi.  She will also be sadly missed by her daughter Melanie and grandchildren Dawn, Belanna and Aljandro, as well as her grandsons Alex and Michael and their mom Joanne and numerous cousins in the Davies and Zimmerman families

Donna had a strong sense of family and didn't believe in family always being about DNA. She was a kind soul who would always try to help in one form or another. 

Donna enjoyed going on road trips even on a day trip with family to go explore different places and spend time with family. 

She was a long-time member of Alcoholics Anonymous being 42 years sober. This being her most notable accomplishment outside of her family. She enjoyed sitting in and also chairing different meetings throughout the organization. Even through the pandemic she was steadfast in having meeting calls with some of her group members. 

There will be a Celebration of Life for Donna on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
