TREY BASAROWICH

Obituary of TREY BASAROWICH

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of Trey Basarowich at the tender age of 16 in Winnipeg Manitoba. Born July 1, 2008 and entered the kingdom of heaven October 5, 2024.

Trey was loved fiercely by his mother, Ashley Basarowich; brothers, Phillip, Memphis and Bishop; grandparents, Steve and Sharon Basarowich and Barbara Mondor; step-siblings, Aaliyah and Quinton; step-dad Quincy; uncles, Steven, Jeremy and Jason; cousins, Chad (Anita), Keegyn, Autumn and Tyson.

Trey had a home away from home at uncle Mikey and Sam’s (Alizaya, Myla) house where he will be deeply missed. Trey had an abundance of friends but nothing beats the A1s from day 1s, Karmyne who was his best friend since age 3. Johnny, Blaize, Marcus, Sincere, Isaiah, Sam, Elijah, Kacy, Emma, Brooklyn, Qiana, Tiana, and Asacia. We also can’t leave out Rosa-leigh (aunty mom) Patience, Freedom, Faith, Sam, Phoenix and Mateo, and finally his Hilltop family. The list goes on and on. Trey was loved by many many people and made a huge impact on everyone who knew him.

He was like a breath of fresh air, always laughing, dancing, singing or just joking around with you. He was one of the most respectful, kind, loving, caring, compassionate and genuine people you could ever ask for. Trey has always remained humble and loyal to the people he loved in his life and that is what he is known best for. Your day would automatically brighten the second Trey entered the room. Trey was born and raised in Winnipeg and went to Elmwood High School. Trey loved music, hanging out with friends, camping, traveling, dirt biking, playing hockey and was proudest of being the youngest volunteer coach for Hockey Heros.  Let’s not forget his good taste in style either, he always made sure he looked good. There was never a dull moment with Trey. He will be deeply missed but definitely never forgotten.

“Forever 16”

“In life we loved you dearly. In death we love you still. In our hearts you hold a place no one else can fill. If tears could build a stairway and heartache make a lane, we’d walk the path to heaven and bring you back again.”

Wake service will be held Tuesday, October 22 from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. with funeral service on Wednesday, October 23 at 1:00 p.m. both at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
