Obituary of GERALD MICHAEL MORLOCK
Gerald passed away peacefully on October 3, 2024 at River East Personal Care Home, at the age of 87 years.
He was predeceased by his father, Michael Morlock; mother, Doris Miskimmin; step-father, Joe Miskimmin; sons, Michael (1994) and Jay (2022); sister-in-law, Beryl Nastuny; brother-in-law, Walter Lotocki.
Jerry is lovingly remembered by his wife, Gail; and grandchildren Emily and Sarah.
He also leaves his brother, Gary (Barbara); sister, Carol (Roy); sister-in-law, Bev; brother-in-law, Mike; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Jerry was born December 16, 1936 in Winnipeg to Michael and Doris Morlock.
He graduated from Isaac Newton High School and went on to a successful career as an insurance broker.
Jerry and Gail were married on January 23, 1965. Their son Michael was born on August 17, 1969 and son Jay was born on February 3, 1972.
Jerry loved to travel and had great vacations in Jamaica, Jordon, Thailand, London, etc. and many vacations in the United States and Canada.
Football was a passion for Jerry and he played senior football with the St. Vital Bulldogs for many years, both as a player and a trainer. He was very proud to be admitted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame. He made many lasting friendships from his years of playing football and these friendships continued after he was diagnosed with dementia. As a patient in the River East Personal Care on May 19, 2023 his loyal friends, Jerry Tostowaryk, Bob and Don Kuryk visited him faithfully every week.
Thank you to the staff at the River East Personal Care Home who cared for and treated Jerry with dignity and love.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Jerry’s life will take place at a later date.
