Obituary of DANNY VUKOVICH
DANNY VUKOVICH
April 2, 1959 – April 8, 2013
Peacefully on April 8, 2013, at Riverview Health Centre, Danny Vukovich passed away after a courageous three year battle with cancer.
Danny was predeceased by his father Svetomir (Steve), mother Emmi, uncle Mike, aunt Erna, cousins Peter and Joan, and his beloved felines Coco and Spike.
Left to mourn his passing are his brother Raimund, cousins Steve, Mike, Branko (Kaja) and Chris (April), second cousins Derek (Sabrina), Kristin (Jeff), Cody (Kim), Laica (Mitch), Carmen and Chevella.
Danny grew up and lived his entire adult life in St. James. He attended Britannia School, Stevenson Junior High and graduated from Sturgeon Creek High School. Danny then joined the work force and worked for Coldstream. At the time of his passing Danny was employed by Waterite Technologies. We extend a heartfelt thank you to his co-workers for their care and support.
Danny will be remembered as a fiercely independent, caring, and loveable man. Some of his greatest pleasures included spending time with family, his life long friends, barbequing a big steak with a cold one, a good cup of tea, watching football and hockey, working out at the gym, and spending time with his cats Coco and Spike.
We sincerely thank all of Danny’s family and friends who provided overwhelming love and support to him throughout his battle with cancer. Special thanks to the Healthcare Professionals at CancerCare Manitoba, especially Dr. B. Bashir, Dr. M. Pitz and Jamie RN, BN, OCN and to the Riverview Health Centre 3 East Palliative Care Unit, for their kind and compassionate care.
A celebration of Danny’s life will take place on Monday, April 15th at 10AM at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Danny’s memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or The Winnipeg Humane Society.
