Dad loved his paper…Picture of dad and me when I was 4 months old that I cherish . His fishing trip at our place in Lake of the Woods. He had the best time especially when our neighbor took him via boat. He used his great granddaughter Acadia’s glittery pink fishing rod. Mike our neighbor kept saying to him Gido you got a fish. He caught so many pickerel that day. He was beaming ear to ear. Dad had the best time. ❤️

Dad, I will miss your funny laugh, your beautiful smile, our visits. Your famous ok.ok..ok..is one for the books. No one did it better than you.
The time we spent was so precious and I will cherish them forever. Our yearly road trips to Skinners on your birthday was always a fun time. Your eyes would light up when we would hit the road. A loaded foot long hot dog, fries and a root beer is what you always ordered. But let’s not forget the medium vanilla and chocolate twisted soft ice cream cone. That was a must have too. Your birthday is fast approaching what will I do. Go to Skinners and spend it with you in spirit.
You were such an amazing fisherman who always caught more fish than anyone. I am so blessed you were able to come to our cottage. We had the best time. You feeding the turtles and fishing .
Thank you for making me a skating rink in the backyard and teaching me to skate. Thank you for teaching me to swim. Thank you for teaching me how to draw horses that look like donkeys. Thank you for hiding in the bush and scaring me with your bear growls.Thank you for supporting me in my track and field. Thank you for teaching me to polka. Thank you for always flying out to Toronto to assist Cory with appointments.
I can go on and on with thanking you. Thank you for being my DAD. I will love you forever and cherish every precious moment in my heart. I am going to miss you Dad. Love your daughter, Joni

Thank you dad for explaining football to me and taking me to the Blue Bomber games. We had so much fun! We always sat in the north end zone because you said we can see the game better. But truth be told you could observe the concession workers in the stands better. You were making sure they were working as Ritz Foods ran the concessions.

I worked for Uncle Bill most Saturdays and quite a lot of Fridays catering when I was in school. When he had multiple dues on the same days I’d come in on Thursdays after school and help setup. I shredded a lot of cabbages for the coleslaw.
He was there cooking and prepping. He had great joy and put a lot of love into the food he prepared.
On the day we’d load everything into the Volkswagen bus and whip around Winnipeg dropping off all the equipment and food.
I scooped a lot of peas and carrots and huge stacks of dishes and silverware. We’d then load up and get everything safely back to the shop. He’d do everything with great joy and passion.
When he got the curling club canteen I’d work while he prepared.( Can still remember the smell of the simmering Corned Beef). On days he had dues, working with Joan.
The best Christmas Eve family parties were when Bill and Irene hosted at their place. Both his and her families had so much fun together. (I should have never left the kids table) The food was so good and the joy in the conversation was exemplary.
He had such love for his family and so many friends.
I’ll be missing him.

I will miss Uncle Bill. I have many memories of Uncle Bill and Auntie Irene dancing together at the many weddings, socials, anniversary celebrations and birthday milestones. They were always so graceful and kind and beautiful. Auntie Irene/Bill and my mom Mary/Peter both had 6 children and I was always in awe of this with them being able to juggle work and home life! Here is a picture from our Tanchak book that is absolutely adorable! Love and miss you Uncle Bill.
