MELEAH DYER

Obituary of MELEAH JEANNINE DYER

Meleah passed away peacefully with family by her side on May 28, 2024 at the age of 17 years old.

She is survived by her mother Jeannine Dyer, father Keith Dyer, sister Bethaneah Dyer, grandfather and grandmother Ron and Jeannette Folbert, grandmother Hazel Grant, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Meleah was born in Winnipeg at St. Boniface Hospital. She was a beautiful perfect baby and had so much spunk and energy as a toddler. As soon as she could walk, she started to dance. We knew we had to use up all that energy and sign her up for classes as soon as possible! So, at 3 1/2 years old she began her dance journey at LA Dance Academy where she attended for 14 years. She accomplished winning many awards throughout the years, even traveling to other provinces to compete. Dance was her passion and escape and Meleah loved to perform. Her love for dance was so great that she pushed through even when she was ill. It was her peace.

Meleah had a special love for her cats Piper, Cody and Daisy who brought so much joy and comfort to her over the years.

She accomplished so much in her 17 years. She was determined to work and make her own money for her independence. So, she got a job at Value Village where she made some amazing friends and got to do some thrifting as she loved her clothes and having the right “fit” Her style was unique and always looking fresh! Especially the sneakers!

She also was determined to get her license and one day drive her dream car, a Subaru BRZ. Even though it’s a manual car, her Dad taught her and she pushed herself to learn how to drive it. Then one day her dream came true and her Grandparents made that happen for her. She was so proud of herself!

She also started modeling for Panache, and was a finalist in the International Model search! She even got her brow certification to work alongside her mother. She did all of this while fighting her Cancer from age 14. She was hoping to continue with everything until it was cut short.

Meleah was a determined, strong, smart, funny, tell it like it is person. Wise beyond her years! She impacted so many people in her short time here, but her drive and ambition is an inspiration to many.

We will never ever forget our shining star! Will never burn out!! Her spirit for life will live on forever!

The family especially thanks the many doctors and nurses at Cancer Care and Children’s Hospital.

If friends so desire, donations may be made to Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope.
