ROSE KUBAS

Obituary of ROSE BERTHA KUBAS

ROSE KUBAS nee Brasseur born November 12, 1942 – April 27, 2024, 81 years old

Surrounded by her family Rose Kubas passed away peacefully on April 27, 2024, at Maples Personal Care Home.

Rose grew up in Carrick, Manitoba. She later moved to Winnipeg where she met the only love of her life, Allan Kubas.  They were married on July 27, 1963.  They immediately started a family with their first-born son Lonny.  11 years following, they were graced with a loving daughter named Sheryl.

In 1970 Rose and Allan purchased the Semple IGA store where they took great pride in serving the community for 11 years. They then moved to the Maples on Kenville Crescent.  Rose then moved on to work in the bakeshop at Canada Safeway which after working for several years led her to retirement.  They later sold their home in the Maples and moved out to East St. Paul so Rose could do what she loved best, working outside in her flower gardens, and planting a large garden. As a couple, Rose and Allan enjoyed travelling in their motor home and taking hot winter vacations. Family was of great importance to Rose where she loved to cook and bake up a storm for all that came to visit.  Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world where they always came first and were always welcome.  She took great pleasure in watching her young grandchildren and spending many hours of quality time with them.

In October of 2008, Rose lost the love of her life Allan.  Rose will be greatly missed by her son Lonny (Joann), daughter Sheryl (Lendor), grandchildren Ryan (Nicole), Jarred, Cody and Owen and her great-grandchildren Isla and Beckham.  Rose is survived by sister Emily (Pete) and pre-deceased by her parents Bessie and Louis and brothers Johnny and Julius.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Maples Personal Care Home for making Rose’s stay so comforting and like home.  We will be forever grateful for the care and compassion she received, especially in the last week of her life.

A private family burial will be held to celebrate Rose’s life.

Memorial donations may be made to Parkinson Canada - Winnipeg.

We sat beside your bedside

Our hearts were crushed and sore

We did our duty to the end

Til we could do no more

In tears we watched you sinking

We watched you fade away

And though our hearts were breaking

We knew you could not stay

You left behind some aching hearts

That loved you most sincere

We never shall and never will

Forget you, Mother Dear

To the best mom we could ask for, rest easy and in peace, we will miss and love you forever.
