Obituary of MARIA ROSA FARIA SILVA
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Rosa Faria Silva on April 8, 2024, 5 days shy of her 80th birthday.
Rosa is survived by her husband Manuel, son Manuel (Arlene), daughter Maria, brother José (Santo Cristo), sister-in-law Orminda, grandchildren Andrew, Brynne (Reilly), Ryan and Christopher, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.
She was predeceased by her father Antonio, mother Valentina, daughter Lucia, brothers Manuel and João, and sister Valentina.
Rosa was born in Arrifes, São Miguel, Açores on April 13, 1944. She married the love of her life, Manuel Silva, on July 30, 1966. Manuel immigrated to Canada in 1970 to set up a better life for his family and Rosa joined with her two oldest children in March 1971, where her youngest child was born 3 months later. She worked various factory jobs to help the family live a comfortable life in Canada. She was a caring mother, loving wife, doting grandmother and wonderful friend to whoever knew her. She took pride in taking care of her home and family. Her delicious home cooked meals will be remembered by all of her family.
The family would like to thank Seven Oaks Hospital staff for the care they gave her over the last week.
Prayers will take place on Thursday, April 11 at 7:00pm at Cropo on Main Street. Christian mass will take place on Friday, April 12 at 12:00pm at the Immaculate Conception Parish, followed by internment at Assumption Cemetery, Queen of Heaven Mausoleum.
