ADRIANO FERREIRA

Obituary of ADRIANO FERREIRA

ADRIANO FERREIRA June 19, 1931 - March 30, 2013 It is with great sadness that we announce that Adriano Ferreira peacefully passed in his slumber during the early morning hours of Saturday, March 30, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife Engracia, his three sons Manuel Pedro, Jose Francisco, Antonio Manuel, and his daughter Maria. He also leaves behind his eight grandsons, two granddaughters, two great-grandsons, and numerous other family members who will love and remember him always. Adriano was born in Mação, Portugal on June 19, 1931. He immigrated to Canada on June 13, 1967, a day of celebration in Portugal in honour of the Patron Saint Anthony. He lived out his passion of wood crafting right until the very end. He loved his homemade wine, and enjoyed sharing it with family and friends. He spent many hours with his sons, fishing, and hunting, and instilled a love of nature and the outdoors in all of his children. He was passionate about soccer and was happiest when watching his favourite team Benefica. He spent many summer days alongside his wife tending to their garden, plants, and vegetables. His grandchildren meant to the world to him, and he always had a smile, a hug, and a story to share. Adriano lived life to the fullest, and loved to laugh, but most of all he loved being with his family. It is because of his sacrifices and struggles that his family has had opportunities and experiences that continue to fulfill their lives and forever keep his memory in our hearts. We will never forget the stories, memories, and love that he shared with each of us during our many adventures together. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, April 3 at 8:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin Street North. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 4 at 10:00 a.m. also at church. Interment to follow in Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations in Adriano's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
