Obituary of SANTO CAPIZZI
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Friend on Saturday, March 30th 2013 at Seven Oaks Hospital.
Santo was born in Calascibetta, Sicily on June 25th, 1924. He worked as a coal miner in Belgium from 1948-54 before immigrating to Canada. For his first 12 years in Canada, he worked at Perths and then retired from Eatons in 1989. He will be remembered for his love for his family, his sense of humor, and his captivating stories.
Santo is survived by his wife of 54 years, Maria, his sons Tony (Shannon) and Salvatore (Catherine), his brothers Francesco and Pietro, sisters Maria, Antonietta and Francesca, granddaughter Selina, brothers and sisters-in-law, as well as nieces and nephews.
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, April 5th at 11:00 a.m. in the Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave. with Reverend Father Sam Argenziano officiating. Expression of condolences may be made to the family starting at 10:00 a.m. Entombment at Queen of Heaven Mausoleum (3990 Portage Ave). Reception to follow at Cropo Funeral Chapel (1442 Main St).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare or Holy Rosary Church.
