We couldn’t have asked for a better next door neighbour. Always willing to lend a hand or visit over a cold beer. Sincere condolences to his family, especially our mom’s honorary grandsons, Eric and Andrew.
Fly with the angels, Dave ❤️

Dave was an incredible lake neighbour and friend. When we first purchased our camp on Ottermere we often thought "Are we crazy?" and then we met Dave, and we knew we were crazy (in the best way)! He was so funny, tough, brave, intense, strong, and helpful. It's hard to believe he has passed- Dave was superhuman to us.
We are thinking of his family and sending love (and boat ride offers),

My condolences to the Cox family. I was very saddened to hear of Dave's passing. We always felt like Dave and his family were a part of our Ottermere family. He was never too busy to drop what he was doing to come and help us, which was always appreciated. Rest in peace, Dave.

Sending our condolences to the Cox family and all of the friends at Ottermere who will miss Dave's generous presence. He was, as my brothers have said, the best lake neighbour a family could ask for - never too busy to lend a hand to whatever was needed, and never expecting anything in return, except for a cold beer or two!! We are thankful for the support he gave to the Sayer family and for the many years we were able to say, "Oh, Dave probably has one of those!"
Hope God had a cooler full waiting for you, Dave!

Condolences to all of Dave's family.........
I first met Dave at MMCI.
I first noticed his somewhat large thick hands. In my time I have seen those hands handle the rigors of gymnastics, become magical inside a baseball glove (performing a running catch of a baseball "for the ages" in Phys. Ed.) and I was surprised when I first saw his awesome art work.
My family experienced those hands helping, or doing, most of the work on a paving stone patio. Just as so many others have experienced his helping also. He never shied away from anything. Those hands handled all the rigors of a railroad career at which he did better than most. He was an honest, fun loving, pesky kind of guy.
RIP "RED"

Our sincere condolences to Dave’s family.
Dave has been a close friend of our family for over 50 years. Always there to help us out with repairs, tools, bits and pieces even a pair of crutches, but mostly with his friendship and good nature. You couldn’t ask for a better neighbor and friend. One of my earliest memories of Dave was when he came over to the cabin to take Greg for a ride in his “minimax” boat, basically two sheets of plywood with a motor attached. One of my last memories was Dave giving Ted a ride from the Pelican Landing to the portage and then to the cabin. Ted’s last time to the cabin. In typical Dave fashion, full tilt through the rocks! The big guy upstairs must have needed the best neighbor and friend, and he chose you. You will be missed but never forgotten.
