Obituary of LINDA GIBBONS
Linda Gibbons
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of my beloved wife, Linda on our 55th anniversary on February 15, 2024 at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 75.
Linda was predeceased by her mother and father, Erwin and Elsa Kaehler, sister Barbara Stark.
Linda will be forever remembered by her husband Lorne, son Michael (Leanne), son Trevor, daughter Amanda (Billy), brother Norbert (Susan), sister Joyce (Paul) and 6 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Linda was born in Germany and they came to Canada in 1952. We met at a United Church young peoples dance in 1965 and got married in 1969. Linda was a stay at home mom while she raised our three children after which she worked at Core Mark and Stats Canada. Her religion was most important to her but also she enjoyed knitting and sewing and of course cooking big meals for the family and spending time with the grandchildren. In her later years she had been confined to a wheelchair which had slowed her down. But she looked forward to Sunday dinner with the family and a friendly game of crazy eights after dinner.
There will be no service by request and a private cremation has taken place.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at St. Boniface Hospital who valiantly tried to overcome her final challenges that last day.
