Obituary of NETTIE (ANASTAZIA) DOLSKI
NETTIE (ANASTAZIA) DOLSKI
Peacefully, with family by her side, Nettie passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024, at the age of 92 years.
Nettie was born January 18th, 1932; the youngest of 5 brothers and a sister who grew up on farm in Domain, Manitoba.
Nettie was predeceased by her husband, Bernie in 2016.
She will be missed by her loving family: Bernie Jr , Don (Marlene) , Janice (Paul); her grandchildren: Kendra (Ryan), Karly (Travis), Katelyn (Darin), Dylan (Katelyn), great grandchildren: Leo, Jovie & Dalton, Mason & Jackson
Bernie and Nettie were married in 1952, their life’s work and treasure was their family.
Home for the longest time was the pink and blue house on Burrows, the door of their home was always open for the family and friends.
After raising her family Mom worked at North Winnipeg Credit Union for 23 years; never missing a day of work! So many of the patrons of the Credit Union became longtime friends. She took great pride in her work and had nothing but time for everyone who walked into those doors as well.
Mom & Dad travelled extensively through Canada, Europe, Hawaii, Mexico, Hilton Head and made many lifelong friends along the way.
Mom would tirelessly gather the family (and any one of our friends who was around) for dinner every Sunday for as long as any of us can remember. No one left the house without a full belly and a smile on their face (sometimes a care package of cabbage rolls in hand)
Mom’s belief that “ Family is my Wealth” speaks volumes when thinking of her dedication to her family. She showed us everyday, until the end, that a positive perspective was the only path forward, no matter how difficult things might seem. Like her overwhelming generosity her positive spirit NEVER wavered.
Moms’ wealth in family only kept expanding as she became “Nannie” to her Grandchildren, and went soaring even further, if that was possible, with the arrival of Great Grandchildren.
Shortly after Dad’s passing, Mom moved into an apartment. With here infectious generosity and positive outlook in tow, she developed another family of friends at the Hedges. It wasn’t long before the Hedges friends were all sharing coffee and visits and especially enjoying Happy Hour gatherings Those were some of her happiest times. She remained there until her passing.
Thanks to her many friends who were always looking out for her and brought her much joy.
The family wishes to thank staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their compassionate care throughout her final weeks.
A private Celebration of Life, and a family interment, will take place at a late date.
We love you Nannie!
