MICHAL MADEJCZYK

May 26,1930 - February 5, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that the family announce the passing of Michal Madejczyk on the morning of February 5, 2024. He passed peacefully in his sleep at River East Personal Care Home in Winnipeg at the age of 93.

Michal is preceded in death by his parents Yurko and Rosalia, brother Vladik and sister Kataryna.

Michal is lovingly remembered by his wife Fenna, his children Bo (Julie); Donna (Tim); Hyla (Kirk); grandchildren David (Stacie), Andrew (Shontel), Jayann (DJ), Scott (Kim), Kyle (Amy), Jayce (Alyssa), Alicia (Dale); great-grandchildren Bohdan, Jackson, Ava, Liliana, Elias, Isabelle, Abigail, and godchildren Lesia and Maria (Kitasz) as well as numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

Michal was born in Wola Matiaszowa, Lemkivshchyna on May 26, 1930. He lived a humble life as a farmer and later served as a coal miner in the army. He met his beautiful wife Fenna Kapeluch in her village in Wislok and married on February 28, 1957 in Borzytuchom. Their three children Bohdan, Danuta and Halina were born in Ukraine and immigrated to Canada together as a family in 1964. In Winnipeg Michal & Fenna raised their family together in the North Kildonan area; later purchasing a home in East Kildonan. Michal worked at Oxford Cleaning Co and then for MTS from 1977 to December 1991. He enjoyed time at the cottage with family in Matlock Beach. He was passionate about gardening and had a green thumb like no other. He was infamous for his ‘flu shot’ (garlic infused vodka) that he insisted you try when you entered his home. Michal was an avid card player and enjoyed beating his friends and family at crib. Family was everything to our Тато & Дідо and he loved nothing more than watching his family grow.

The family of Michal wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the management, staff and Doctors at River East Personal Care Home for their compassion and care.
