There she met and fell in love with John. They were married in 1946. They had their first child, Halina, who died in infancy. They had another daughter,
Barbara. In 1948 John went ahead to start a new life in Canada. Maria and daughter followed him a few months later. They settled in Winnipeg in 1950 within the Polish community. A son, Richard, was born in 1950. A daughter, Donna, was born in 1955. Their family was complete.
Mom loved taking care of her family. She especially loved it when her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren were born. She was an amazing Babcia.
