Karen Ida Rasmussen (nee Howson)
1965-2024
Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, Karen Ida Rasmussen (nee Howson) passed away at the Health Sciences Centre, in Winnipeg, MB., on Wednesday, January 31, 2024.
Karen will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Carly Rasmussen; partner Darryl Harder both of Winnipeg, MB. Sister Sharon Howson of Steinbach, MB., Aunt Linda & Uncle John Myers of Winnipeg, MB., Aunt Clara Lapointe of Calgary, AB., and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Karen was predeceased by her husband Kent Rasmussen, parents Theresa & Leo Howson, grandparents Antoinette & Charles Howson, Ida & Dutch Lapointe.
Karen was born on December 6, 1965, in Brandon, MB. She graduated from Daniel McIntyre Collegiate in 1983. She worked most of her career in the grain industry and last worked for Farmlink until retiring in 2023. Karen was loyal and committed to her job and well respected in the industry.
Karen treasured spending time with her daughter Carly, partner Darryl and extended family. We will always keep her in our hearts and have fond memories of our time together.
With respect to her wishes, cremation has taken place.
The memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street in Winnipeg, MB. Lunch to follow the service.
