DARREN DOUGLAS DANIEL LAMONT

Obituary of DARREN DOUGLAS DANIEL LAMONT

DARREN DOUGLAS DANIEL LAMONT On March 18, 2013 in Winnipeg, MB., Darren Lamont, beloved son, brother and uncle passed away at the age of 46 years. Darren is survived by his loving family; mother Marie Harrison and sisters Jasmine Desloges, Lorraine Molteni, Sandy Keenan (Joe) and Lisa Packham (Aubrey); nephews David, Michael, Seth (Tammy) and Tom, nieces Reanne (Rick), Layoma, and Sandi (Jeff); great nephews Brenden and Tevin and great nieces Julia, Cade, Maddie, Kemarie and Ella. Darren was predeceased by his father Ken Lamont. Darren was born on Tuesday August 16, 1966, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. From the time he was born, Darren faced many obstacles, including the prognosis that he may never walk, but Darren being the fighter he was, proved everybody wrong. By the age of 3 Darren didn’t just walk; he ran….and never stopped! As a child, Darren was always happy and had a smile that would light up a room. In 1987, Darren graduated from Prince Charles School, again beating the odds. Then in 1998, Darren was blessed to inherit Dasch as his second family. Through Dasch, Darren built several unbreakable bonds and lasting relationships. Darren had the opportunity to do some traveling throughout Canada, and even went to Mexico. He loved spending time at the cabin with his Dasch family in the summer. He had a passion for music, with most of his favourites becoming all time classics. Darren also loved dancing, singing and food, but his true passions were ABBA, Mars Bars, and Diet Pepsi. Darren was extremely affectionate; anyone close to him was able to experience his warm, tender hugs. The love Darren shared with his family was unbreakable, due to the devotion and unconditional love of his mother Marie. He and his sisters had a closeness that carried through childhood and throughout their lives. Darren’s nieces and nephews hold many fond memories of precious times. Darren had a special connection with his nephew David, and the two were known as the "Holy Terrors of Lochmoor Ave." Though he left us too soon, Darren gave us many unforgettable memories and times we will cherish forever. Not here in body, but eternally in spirit. Good-bye Bruxo, we love you!!! We will meet again in Heaven. His family would like to thank the following; everyone at DASCH and the Doctors and staff in ICU at Concordia Hospital. Thank you to Heather and Leslie during a very trying week. A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 27th at 1:00 pm at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, with a reception to follow. If friends so desire, donations may be made in loving memory of Darren to DASCH and/or The Downs Syndrome Society of Canada – 825 Sherbrook St. I have a dream, a song to sing; To help me cope with anything. If you see the wonder of a fairytale, You can take the future even if you fail. I believe in Angels, Something good in everything I see. I believe in Angels, When I know the time is right for me, I’ll cross the stream. I have a dream. ABBA
