RONALD LESLIE

Obituary of RONALD LESLIE

RONALD ROBERT LESLIE January 12, 1939 – March 16, 2013 It is with great sadness our family announces the passing of Ronald. He is survived by his wife Carole, daughters, Laurie(Jim), Jennifer, their mother Dorian, grandchildren Paul, Kalyn, Jamie, Brennan, Hawkin, sister Dianne(Ron), nephew Mark and niece Donna. Ronald grew up in the Brooklands and Weston area. He attended Cecil Rhodes School and Daniel McIntyre High School. He then worked at the Bay downtown, where he met his wonderful wife Dorian. Together they raised their two beautiful daughters and spent many fun filled years together. He was very proud of his daughters watching them build their careers and families. Later Ronald pursued a career at Firestone as an auditor where he travelled around MB and SK. Ronald enjoyed camping with his family in his Volkswagen Van. He spent many summers at the cottages at Jessica Lake and Lac Du Bonnet, where the card games often went late into the night. He loved bowling which had him participating in several leagues over the years. He had a special love of airplanes and the Western Canada Aviation Museum which he shared with his grandsons on so many occasions. He followed the NASCAR circuit which took him to Indianapolis to see the time trials for the Indy 500. Prior to retirement Ronald owned a franchise of World of Water which was started by his dear friends Bob and Gladys. In his later years, Ronald met Carole at the St. James library where they spent a great deal of time together. Some of Ron’s happiest years were spent with Carole. Our family would like to give a special thanks to Gladys Reid, Wayne Brien, and the Grace Hospital Staff of 3 North and E.R. Staff. We would also like to recognize Kora for making our journey a little easier. A Memorial Service for Ronald will be held on Saturday March 23 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
