Obituary of OLGA SKRYPETZ

OLGA SKRYPETZ (SULAVELLA)

February 16, 1914 – November 14, 2023

After a long life lasting 109 years, Olga, peacefully passed on November 14, 2023.

Predeceased by husband, Frank; brothers, Joe and Alex; sisters, Mary, Kaye and Nettie and survived by brother Nick.

Olga and Frank married late in life but spent over 40 happy years together.

Olga worked at Pauline’s Chocolates and also at Eaton’s in the alterations department.

Olga was not just good at alterations but was an excellent tailor. If she saw something she liked, she was able to duplicate it, whether sewing but also knitting and crocheting.

She loved taking care of her garden and flowers and especially her beloved backyard apple tree. She loved to cook and try new recipes. She also loved to go fishing with Frank.

Olga and Frank did not have their own family but always enjoyed their many nephews, nieces and families. Olga also loved her cats. In later years, she could not care for one but she made friends with all the neighborhood cats.

She lived independently into her 90’s and then spent the remainder of her life at Tuxedo Villas PCH. Her family thanks the staff at Tuxedo Villa for the care she received while there and for keeping her safe during the Covid pandemic.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

I AM A CALENDAR

THE SYMBOL OF TIME

Take time to think,

it is the source of power;

Take time to play,

it is the secret of perpetual youth;

Take time to read,

it is the fountain of wisdom;

Take time to be solved,

it is a God-given privilege;

Take time to be friendly,

it is the road to happiness;

Take time to laugh,

it is the road to happiness;

Take time to laugh,

it is music for the soul;

Take time to give,

it is too short a day to be selfish;

Take time to work,

it is the price of success.
