Obituary of KIMBERLEY DAWN MCCONNELL
Kimberley Dawn McConnell
January 04, 1993 - October 08, 2023
It is with devastating sadness that our family announces the sudden and tragic passing of Kimberley (Kim) McConnell. She left us on Thanksgiving Sunday, October 8, 2023.
When Kimberley entered a room, she brought a lively and welcoming energy. She had no fear of striking up a conversation with a total stranger or sharing her meal with a less fortunate individual. Her unconditional love for others ran deep and it ran freely. It could always be felt by all those that had the pleasure of knowing her.
So who was Kimberley?
She was a passionate and enthusiastic person who lived life on her terms. She excelled at any job where she got to work with people from any and all walks of life. Her strong attributes included being loving, generous, loyal, compassionate, extremely witty, and highly creative!
Kimberley had a charismatic personality. She was always able to make friends wherever she went. People always gravitated to her, and her to them. She was a complex person who asked the tough questions. She was a free spirit through and through, and her strong sense of justice meant she was never afraid to speak out about the causes she believed in.
When Kimberley was young she took dancing lessons from the Royal Dance Conservatory at the Forks. To no one’s surprise, she excelled in all her classes, which included Ballet, Hip Hop, and Tap. As Kimberley grew older, she loved the outdoors. She loved camping and becoming one with nature, collecting little bits of the universe as she went along. As a creative soul, she enjoyed drawing, playing the guitar, and painting rocks she had collected. She was always willing to grow as a person and individual. She loved reading and researching, especially about things that would better her life and health.
She leaves to mourn her mother Karen McConnell, her brother Christopher (Roxanne) Dropko, and her aunts and many cousins. On her father’s side, she leaves behind her father Shayne, brother Damian, sister Christine, and Uncle Ryan McConnell. Additionally, she leaves behind her foster families: Len and Mary-Anne Hart, and Heather, Ethan, Janessa, and Krisjan Friesen.
Not to mention every person she touched in her own unique way!
With Kimberley’s passing, it has left a deep empty hole in the hearts of all who knew her.
Kimberley’s funeral will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel in Winnipeg, located at 1442 Main St on October 27, 2023, at 10:00 am. As per Kim’s wishes, she will be cremated and her ashes will be spread at one of her favourite places.
Thank you all for your support during this trying time, whether it was financially, emotionally, or spiritually. It is greatly appreciated and just goes to show how despite her passing, Kimberley continues to always have a way of bringing people together.
