July 7, 1935 - October 21, 2023
It is with heavy hearts we announce that José Daniel passed away with loved ones by his side on October 21, 2023 at the age of 88.
Prayers will be said on Thursday, October 26, at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 27 at 12:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Parish, 181 Austin Street N. with entombment to follow at Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum, 3990 Portage Avenue.
José was born in Sao Miguel, Azores in 1935. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Maria Daniel, of almost 60 years and will be lovingly remembered by his children João, Joe, Tony (Delfina), Elizabete (Neil), and Helena (Paul), along with his treasured grandchildren who he loved very much and brought him so much joy, Breann, Vanessa, Jordan, Sydney, Nicolette, Jacob, Megan, Kyra, Jenna and great granddaughter, Lilah.
Dad made several trips back home after immigrating to Canada in 1971. It brought him so much joy to return home and reminisce with family and friends.
Dad had many admired traits. He was a hard working man who was very devoted to his faith and family. It gave him so much pleasure to spend his free time in his garden, making home- made wine or watching wrestling.
A light from our household gone. A voice we love is stilled, a place is vacant in our home, which never can be filled. He will be missed dearly, Querido Pai e Avô.
A special thanks to his oldest son João who took special care of him during his decline.
