MARIANO DOS SANTOS PACHECO

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mariano dos Santos Pacheco DeMelo on October 16 into the arms of the Lord.

Mariano is survived by his wife Lucia, daughter Lucy (Juve), sons Michael (Susanne) and Kevin (Montana), grandsons Nicholas and Zachary, sister Amelia and numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Mariano Pedro and Maria da Glória and his siblings José Pedro, Rosa, Maria de Jesus, Edmundo, and Humberto.

Mariano was born on November 1, 1945 in Rabo de Peixe, São Miguel, Açores. He married Lucia on April 30, 1970, and they immigrated to Winnipeg on December 11, 1971, to begin their new lives in Canada. He was employed at Versatile for 27 years and retired in 2000. He enjoyed working in his garden, making wine, and woodworking.

Viewing will be held on Saturday, October 21 at 9:00am at Immaculate Conception Parish, 181 Austin St. N. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 21 at 10:00am also at the church. Interment to follow at Holy Family Cemetery.
