Irene Rosemary Usiski

July 6, 1922 - October 3, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear Mom, Granny, G.G. and Great G.G. She passed away at Hillside Village Nursing Home in Salmon Arm, B.C. on Tuesday October 3, 2023, at the age of 101. She moved to B.C. during Covid when she could no longer stay alone in her Concordia Village home.

Irene was born on July 6,1922 in Rainy River, Ontario to Elmer and Dehlia Tremblay, the second oldest of six children. She received her education in Rainy River but was the first to admit she did not like school! She married Frank Usiski June 28, 1941, and they raised five children Frances, Phyllis, Betty Ann, Dennis, and Alvin.

She is survived by four children, eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; Frances (Jack); Doug (Maurie), Chelsey (Dylan), Ellie, Kamryn; Amanda (Alexis), Axel, Anson ;Chris (Savannah) ,Orren; Betty Ann; Tanis; Jared (Heather), Hayden, Emmett, Sawyer; Sean (Darcelle), Rylan, Austen. Dennis (Gail) Alvin (Nadya); Justin (Shelina), Matt. Son-in-Law Murray; Ryan; Tracy, Maddison, Blake. One sister, Bunny and numerous nieces and nephews.

Irene was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Frank in 1992, one daughter Phyllis in 2015 and son-in law Brian in 2014.

Our home was always the place for family to gather for Christmas, anniversaries, or family reunions. Mom kept in touch with everyone, writing letters or calling on the phone. She will be forever missed and always in our hearts. May she rest in peace.
