Cathie peacefully passed away joining her beloved husband Paul on August 14, 2023.

She was predeceased by her husband Paul, parents Catherine and Edmund Gale, brother Donald, in-laws Nettie and Henry Romas, brother-in-law’s Ernie (Ramona), Steve (Nell) Barry, Norman, sister-in-law Jean (Walter), Nick (Margaret)

Survived by sister Marlene (Ronnie), brother William (Marion), sister-in-laws Lynne Gale, Sophie and Linda Romas, brother-in-law Peter (Adeline), sister-in-law Leona (Gerry) and many nieces and nephews and their families.

Cathie was born at the St. Boniface hospital and lived her whole life in Transcona. She married Paul on May 13,1967 and had celebrated 50 years of marriage prior to Paul’s passing in 2019. She was very active growing up with babysitting for 5 families on Ravelstone, being a Brownie leader, working at the Red and White store in downtown Transcona and the Starlight drive-in before going on to work at Air Canada for 39 years in the accounting department.

Cathie and Paul loved to travel and ventured all over to Scotland, Jamaica, Florida and Hawaii, and with the Shriners to various Midwestern conferences. but her favourite places were their mobile home in Arizona and the cottage at Lee River. They loved to entertain and open their doors for company at any time. They were not blessed with children but treated their nieces and nephews like their own.

Cathie belonged to the ladies lodge, and was a member of the Transcona United Church. She was also the queen of the Red Hatters for 14 years where she said (it was the best time of her life).

Funeral to be held on September 29 at 11:00am at the Transcona Memorial United Church 209 Yale Ave West.

Flowers are gratefully declined but donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
