Obituary of JENNIE NEAL

Jennie Neal (nee Grona)
April 8, 1931 - August 28, 2023

Peacefully, with family by her side, Jennie passed away on Monday August 28th at the age of 92.

Jennie was predeceased by her parents Frank and Vera. She is survived by her husband of 74 years, Jack, their 4 sons Rick (Darlene), Jack (June), Danny (Tracy), Blair (Lindsay), 5 granddaughters and their partners, 9 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Jennie was born in Winnipeg and spent part of her childhood living in St. Andrews on Parkdale Road. Her parents later moved back to Winnipeg and Jennie attended St. John’s High School.

Jennie spent most of her working career as an employee of the Winnipeg School Division working in many different schools; she loved her time in the library working with the students on their projects and helping them find new books to read. Jennie spent many memorable years at the family cottage in Brereton Lake where she would go pick blueberries for hours then return to make the most delicious blueberry pies. In her younger years she was an avid bingo player and enjoyed going on trips to Las Vegas with her husband, Jack. Her family will miss her delicious homemade perishky and her broken-glass cake dessert.

Mom/Nana was our family Matriarch and will be missed dearly by all.

A private family service will be held.
