Obituary of PATRICIA MAUREEN MALIS

PATRICIA MAUREEN MALIS

 (NEE HANDFORD)

On August 28, 2023 after a lengthy illness and a recent diagnosis of ALS, Pat passed away peacefully, at her home, at the age of 70 years. 

She will be sadly missed by her husband and partner of 47 years, Bruno; by her children, Angela (Allan Sharman) and Derrick (Kathleen); her darling grandchildren, Jacob, Hailey, Luke and Maizie; her brothers, Glen (Jeannie) Handford and Scott (Holly) Handford, and her brother in law Bill Harnum (Kathy Lowinger); by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Lloyd and Grace Handford, and by her sister Janice Handford. 

Following Pat’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 31, at 9:30 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. 

The family would like to thank the emergency room staff at HSC Winnipeg, especially Ashley and Sheila, the staff of WRS3 for their kindness, compassion, and care for all of us during Pat’s admission, and for the palliative care staff who supported us at home during this time. A very special thanks to our family and friends who cared for us as we cared for Pat.
