Obituary of DOROTHY OLESKI
DOROTHY OLESKI
(KUTZY)
January 2, 1924-February 24, 2013
With love and sadness in our hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother,
grandmother and great-grandmother.
Memories she left behind will be cherished and forever lovingly remembered by her daughter Gloria (Wayne) Warkentin, son Bruce (Eileen) Oleski, Grandchildren, Cara (Curtis) Farmer, Deanna Fontaine and David Fontaine, Megan (Justin Braun) Oleski, Mark Oleski and great granddaughter, Bree Farmer.
She is also survived by her sister Nell Serofin and brother Peter Kutzy and many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Paul in 2005, two sisters and three brothers.
Mom was born on the farm in Moosehorn, Manitoba where she had a wonderful childhood. In her early teens she moved to Winnipeg where years later she met Paul and together they raised their family.
Mom loved to travel and had many talents. She was a wonderful seamstress, a very talented gardener, a fabulous cook, and enjoyed keeping herself busy with crafts, knitting and crocheting. Dorothy most of all enjoyed taking care of her family needs and spoiling her grandchildren.
In her later years she moved to Lions Manor in Stonewall, MB where she enjoyed her new friends. She participated in many activities such as playing cards, bingo, potlucks and attending the Adult Day Program. In her last few months she resided at Red River Place in Selkirk, MB.
A gathering to celebrate her wonderful life will be held on Friday, March 1, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Home, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg.
Cremation has taken place and a private interment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Dorothy's memory may be made to St. Amant Centre.
