Obituary of LEONARD FREDERICK WAHL
Leonard Frederick Wahl
1935-2023
It is with great sadness the Family of Leonard Wahl announce his passing May 1, 2023.
Leonard was born April 10, 1935 in the town of Strathclair, Manitoba, third oldest of 10 children to Fred and Lena Wahl.
He is survived by wife Lorraine of 65 years, daughter Penny, son Mark (Jo-Ann), granddaughter Tara (Corey), great-grandson Sam, granddaughter Gabriella (Laurence). He leaves to mourn brothers Wifred, John, Garry and Raynard along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Leonard was predeceased by parents Fred and Lena, brothers Melford, Henry, Leslie, Freddy, and Bruce, sister’s in-law Rosanne, Henriette, Patricia and Shirley.
Len spent his younger years farming, fishing in the Ashern area, mining in Lynn Lake and later driving Semi for Clarke Transport in Winnipeg. Leonard’s last employment was for Eatons’s in Winnipeg.
Len’s favourite sports were golfing, fishing, hunting and watching sports on T.V. Dad took great pride in keeping the yard in beautiful condition and was the envy of the neighborhood.
Leonard loved his family and the time he got to spend with us before his passing.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Len’s name to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, May 8, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St.
