Obituary of RUTH IRENE BOYD
Ruth Irene Boyd
June 24, 1929 – April 16, 2023
After a long and peaceful life Ruth passed away at the age of 93. Ruth will be lovingly remembered by nephews Neal (Christine) and Ryan (Susan & family), nieces Drina, Meighan (Fred & daughter Ada), sister-in-law Margaret, and several cousins. She was predeceased by her parents Michael (1981) & Martha (1984), and her brothers Norman (1995) and Dennis (2018).
Ruth worked 41 years in the financial field during which time she travelled extensively in Europe, Hawaii & the USA. On retirement Ruth volunteered for several years on the board of Seven Oaks House Museum. She was a member of Bleak House senior center and also served as a board member. Leisure time was devoted to travelling, crossword & jigsaw puzzles, and casino trips.
Special thanks to cousin Joan Dejong who maintained daily contact with Ruth, and cousin John Whiklo who attended to chores around the house, and provided transportation. Her longtime friend Nadya Hudyma faithfully kept in touch.
In keeping with Ruth's wishes a private family interment of ashes will be made alongside her parents at Brookside Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined; if desired, donations to a favorite charity are appreciated.
Goodbye my family,
My life is past.
I loved you all to the very last.
Weep not for me, but courage take.
Love each other for my sake.
For those you love don't go away.
They walk beside you every day.
