Karen, David and families, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your beloved mom and Baba. She taught at Erikson Elementary School with my mom for many years and our families became friends because of that. DEFINITELY One of my favorite teachers..So sweet, soft spoken, patient and kind..was a wonderful teacher..I remember meeting her on the street a few yrs back and I told her I was a teacher..she was so proud and happy for me..fly high

I have such clear memories of my grade 1 year with Mrs.Maduke! She was the beginning of a long love affair with the education system for me too! I will never forget the day my son came home to tell me that Baba Maduke’s house was the BEST place to be. She apparently asked the hungry group of boys that descended on her house after school what they would like for a snack, and she delivered. Matt had never before been granted his wish of 4 different kinds of meat in one sitting! She was truly a gem. My condolences to you all.
