ARMINDA DAS NEVES VIEIRA
December 17, 1930 - March 15, 2023
It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Arminda Vieira on Wednesday, March 15th, 2023 at Health Sciences Center. Arminda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, who will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 69 years, José; children: Jose (Fatima), John (Analia), Jerry (Gina), Arthur (Tina) and Manuela (Manuel); 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She will be missed by family and friends in Winnipeg and Europe.
Arminda was born and raised in Vale De Barreiras, Portugal, married in 1954 and later immigrated to Canada in 1970, first residing in Thompson and finally in Winnipeg. She was a Seamstress by trade and worked in a variety of locations. She moved back to Portugal for her retirement in 1985 and enjoyed travelling back and forth between Covão do Coelho and Winnipeg to visit family, returning permanently to Winnipeg in 2015.
Arminda will be remembered for her unwavering love for her growing family, who brought her the greatest joy in life. She will truly be missed by each one of them.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all her doctors; Home Care workers who assisted her daily and the Dialysis staff at HSC for their care and support.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 22 at 1:00 p.m. with viewing beginning at noon, both at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin Street North. Interment to follow in Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue.
