Obituary of JOAN MARGARET HUPE
JOAN JUNE MARGARET HUPE
Joan passed away peacefully with family by her side on March 5, 2023 at Golden Links Lodge Personal Care Home at the age of 85.
She is predeceased by her husband Happy (Adelard), granddaughter Jennifer, sisters Barbara, Pat, and Carol, brother Robert, and her sister-in-law and best friend Georgina (Jinx).
Joan is lovingly remembered by her children Jeannine (Tom), Joni (Mario), Dan (Ruth), and Patti (Lyn), grandchildren Colleen (Andrew), Tony, Krissy, Tanya, Joey, and Shawn, great grandchildren Caleb, Lilah, Eloise, and Grayson. She also leaves her brother Wayne (Kathy), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Joan was born and raised in St. Boniface, Manitoba, and worked for many years at Philmar Trade Bindery. Her hobbies included bowling, bingo, and bus trips to the US. Joan loved being a grandmother and great grandmother. Her family was the most important thing to her. She was always there when you needed her with her sense of humor and wisdom.
When she was no longer able to care for herself, Dan and Ruth graciously opened their home. She lived with them for a year and a half before she moved to Golden Links Lodge Personal Care Home.
Mom’s last few days were spent with her family gathered at her bedside, talking, laughing, and telling stories. Patti was with us for hours via video chat on Mom’s last day, and was able to say her goodbyes to Mom. Joni and Mario were with her when she passed away that evening.
The family especially thanks the staff at Golden Links Lodge for their kind and compassionate care of Mom.
A celebration of life will be held on June 12, 2023 at 10:30 am Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
