LESLIE SHAWNA SMITH
1963-2023

It is with profound sadness the family of Leslie Shawna Smith announce her sudden passing on February 20^th at the age of 59.

She will be lovingly remembered and gravely missed by her husband Dan Wasylko of 26 years, and by their furbaby Angel; father Lyle and step-mother Yvonne Smith; brothers Richard and Darryl (Kristine) Smith; half-sister Danielle (Charles) Smith; nieces Kara (Matthew) Smith Nickerson, Krystin (Adam) Okano, Leah (Brandon) Laplante, nephews Jordan and Michael Smith; as well as five great nieces and nephews.

Shawna is predeceased by her mother Cecile Stevenson (2019) and her sister Lyla Smith (1970).

Shawna was born in Brandon, Manitoba and grew up in several places including St. Francois Xavier, Gimli, and Gillam. She resided in Winnipeg for the entirety of her adult life. She could often be found beading, jewelry making, drawing and doing other artistic projects. Mementos her family will cherish forever. She also enjoyed going to bingo with Dan. Shawna worked for Health Canada for 15+ years.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Services and the emergency department of St. Boniface Hospital.
