Obituary of HORACIO OSCAR GUTIERREZ
HORACIO GUTIERREZ
Horacio Gutierrez left us on February 11, 2023 at Misericordia Hospital.
He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife of 60 year Enriqueta, daughter Giselle and son Roberto, his 7 grandkids Tania (Patricio, Ignacio, Sebastian, Matias, Felipe) Carla (Eddy,Tatiana,Sofia,Gisella,Katerina,Daniel(Melissa),Carolina,Reya,Tristan, all his extended family and friends in Winnipeg and family in his beloved Chile.
Horacio left his beloved Chile family and his great ideals for his country after the military coup in 1973 not because he wanted to but had to give his family and himself a safer life with the hope of someday to return. This was not to be. Because he spoke English he found a job as a steel machine operator at Green Stella until it closed and he decided to take early retirement, he then pursued his trade of gunsmith as a hobby fixing his own rifles and guns as well as his close friends.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and photography.
He made it a point to teach and share his extended knowledge of pretty much everything, and his memories of Chile with his kids and grandchildren, who he was so proud of and loved dearly.
