Obituary of PHILIP JOSEPH CONROY

PHILIP JOSEPH CONROY Philip Joseph Conroy, born February 16, 1954 in Ottawa, ON, passed away peacefully with his family and friends at his side after a brief struggle with illness, in Gimli, MB, just shy of his 59th birthday. Phil came to Winnipeg in the 1970s to work with Revenue Canada, started his family with Tricia Speed, and then finished his career with Transport Canada. His kind heart and sharp wit touched many lives, and will be sorely missed and remembered with love by all. His spirit will live on through his daughter Jocelyn, his sons Kurt (Jackie) and Max (Andrea), his brother Rick (Mari), beloved relatives and many good friends. Thanks to the Interlake Palliative Care staff; his Doctor Michèle Matter; and his cousins Sheila, Mel and their families, who provided a safe and loving home for Phil in his final days. A celebration of Phil's life will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2013, with details to follow. A donation in Phil's name may be made to the Interlake Palliative Care Program in Gimli, MB.
