Obituary of GUILHERME PEREIRA LOURENCO
It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Guilherme Lourenco on September 3, 2022 at the Grace Hospital, at the age of 83.
He is predeceased by his parents Antonio Pereira and Maria Da Conceicao, brothers David, Ernesto, Joao, and Jose.
Guilherme is survived by his wife, Sara, children Paulo Jorge, Gilda, and Diane, grandchildren Alyshia, Kristen, Hunter, and great grandchild Olivia. He also leaves his brothers Antonio (Adriana), Raul (Maria), Sezar (Emaculada), sisters Maria (Jacinto), Escolastica (Miguel), Celia (Leonardo), as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Guilherme was born and raised in Santo Antonio, Sao Miguel, Acores. He immigrated to Canada in 1969 with his wife, Sara, and their young son, Paulo Jorge. Dad soon began working in the meat packing industry alongside his brothers. After many years of hard work, he decided to retire at the age of 60.
He took pride in his garden and wine making. Always one to welcome anyone into his home for a taste of his wine or vegetables that he had grown.
We will miss seeing you at ‘your’ favorite spot on the couch, watching the soccer match or the latest news from Portugal on RTP.
The family would like to especially thank the Grace Hospital ICU for their care.
Prayers will be held on Friday, September 9, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Funeral Mass to be held on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Parish, 181 Austin Street N, with interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue.
