Obituary of ERWIN SCHMEIDA
It is with profound sadness that the family of Erwin Schmeida announce his peaceful passing on Friday, Sept 2, 2022 at the age of 81. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 49 years, Juanita; children Quentin (Riza), Jennifer (Ryan), and Yvonne (Terence); grandchildren Wyle, Runa and Hellayna; sisters Edith Wischolit, Ellen Hartmann (Peter), and Rosario; nieces Ramona, Angelika, and Nicole, nephew Jorg, as well as many relatives and friends.
Born in Germany, Erwin accomplished his dream of moving to Canada in 1968, raising a family, and enjoying the great outdoors. He loved to fish and built his own cabin out at Lac Du Bonnet. He worked as a lifeguard and taught the neighbourhood, nieces, and nephews how to swim! He was a welder, a builder, a fifth-class power engineer, a true renaissance man, Opa did it all! Erwin will be fondly remembered by the many people whose lives he touched.
Special thank you to Quentin, Riza, Juanita, and to WRHA Homecare for their dedicated care these past few years.
