I have fond memories of family gatherings....especially at weddings with my mother Joanna Dmytriw (Swidinzky).
On these occasions Helen and I would bring each other up to date on family life and events.
The last very memorable event with family was the celebration of Mildred's and my 50th anniversary at the Cabot Centre.
My sincere condolences for the loss of your mother.
