OLGA SKOCHELIAS
June 13, 1926 – July 1, 2022

We are saddened to announce that Olga passed away with family by her side.
Mom was predeceased by her husband John; daughters Julie Kerr and Anna Jurgens; and grandsons Rory Mack and Kevin Dyck.
She was survived by her daughter Lesia (Harold) Dyck; grandchildren Ryan (Kailey) Dyck, Vanessa (Nicholas) Rempel, Matthew (Nadine) Dyck, Marnie (Erin) Wade, Catherine (Brad) Sims, Tyler Jurgens, and Austin Jurgens; Ten great-grandchildren; as well as other family and friends.
Mom was born in Vennetcky Povit., Ukraine. During the war she was sent to Germany for forced labour where she met Dad. They were married June 8, 1947. Emigrated to Canada in 1952 with 2 small children where they settled in Kirkland Lake, Ontario. They made their way to Winnipeg where her youngest, Anna, was born.
She enjoyed acting and being involved in local plays as well as a lady’s choir group. Mom was a wonder with her cross stitch and sewing and was known for her hospitality and Ukrainian cooking.
A private service will be held.
I would like to thank St. Boniface Hospital Emergency and Palliative Care, the staff at Holy Family Home, St. Johns ward, and Cropo Funeral Chapel for all their care and support.
