Obituary of ANNA SZAJKOWSKI
ANNA SZAJKOWSKI
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anna Szajkowski on January 25, 2013 at the Holy Family Home. She was predeceased by her devoted husband of 56 years, Kazimierz.
Anna will be lovingly remembered by her sons: Stanley (Irene), Zbigniew/Pete (Karen) and Roman; her grandchildren: Kevin (Bo), Terry (Kim), Ryan (Camille), Andrea (Sean), Michael (Tara) and by her great grandchildren: Sophia, Anna, Kieren, Miles and Sara who gave her so much joy. Anna also leaves behind to mourn her two brothers: Staszek (Stasia) and Zbyszek (Jadzia) and her sister in England, Stefie and her cousin Bronek (Mariola) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Anna was born in Huto Stare, Poland on May 2, 1923. With the advent of the war, she was uprooted from her home and family at a young age and spent many difficult years in Siberia, Persia and Africa before settling in Scotland where she met her husband. Anna and Kazimierz subsequently moved to the North of England where they raised three sons and then immigrated to Winnipeg, Canada in 1965.
Anna will be remembered for her great generosity and her devotion to her family. Sunday dinners at home were always happy occasions and much enjoyed by her children and grandchildren. Her deep faith was a comfort to her throughout her life and especially during the years of her declining health.
The family would like to thank the staff of Holy Family Home for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anna's name to Holy Family Home or to the charity of your choice.
